Batavia, Ohio. The Clermont Transportation Connection recorded 10,440 more rides in 2007 compared to 2006 numbers, a 22 percent increase! “Most transit systems get very excited over a 3 to 4 percent increase,” said CTC Director Ben Capelle. “We have seen a 22 percent increase, which is really phenomenal. We have been working hard to maximize our efficiency and slowly change the type of service we provide with a mission to serve as many Clermont citizens as possible.”
CTC currently operates one express route between New Richmond and downtown Cincinnati and one local route from Felicity to Eastgate. These routes compliment the dial-a-ride service CTC has provided since its inception in 1977.
“As gas prices hit record highs, transit will become an even more important part of our society,” said Capelle. “CTC must continue evolving to meet the needs of the county. We have some very exiting plans for 2008 and we hope to see continued ridership growth in the double digits.”
To further improve service, beginning March 1 CTC will begin staffing the bus dispatch center on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This will allow passengers an additional day to contact CTC and make or change reservations. CTC currently operates three vehicles on Saturdays from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
