CTC Exploring First Dial-a-Ride Fare Hike in 12 Years

Batavia, Ohio.  Clermont Transportation Connection (CTC) will hold a series of three public hearings to gather citizen input on a proposed fare increase for the door to door (Dial-A-Ride) service; if approved, it would be the first CTC fare hike in 12 years.  The proposal would raise bus fares from $3 to $4 for adults, from $2 to $3 for students, and from $1.50 to $2 for seniors, those with disabilities, and children.

“While we have not raised fares in the past 12 years, our operating costs have been steadily rising,” said CTC Director Ben Capelle.  “A single door to door trip costs CTC $28.69 to provide; it is difficult to operate efficiently with fares at their current levels.”

Citizens are invited to attend any of the following public hearings concerning the proposed fare hikes:

  • Monday, March 23, 7 p.m. at the Clermont County Administration Building (third floor session room), located at 101 East Main Street in Batavia.
  • Tuesday, March 24, 8 a.m., at the Union Township Administration Building, located at 4350 Aicholtz Rd.
  • Wednesday, March 25, 11 a.m., at the Miami Township Administration Building, located at 6101 Meijer Drive in Milford.

CTC will provide special transportation service to the first meeting on March 23; trips can be scheduled through CTC by calling (513) 732-7433.
