Batavia, Ohio. It will now be easier to spot the destination of Clermont Transportation Connection (CTC) buses; three new ones are on local roadways that feature an electronic destination sign on the front of the vehicle. “This is a great benefit to passengers,” said CTC Director Ben Capelle. “The electronic signs are especially beneficial to citizens who ride the bus from New Richmond to downtown Cincinnati. They can quickly find their shuttle by looking for the sign.”
Two of the new buses seat 18 passengers and the third seats 12. Each bus can accommodate 2 passengers using wheelchairs. “The cost for the buses was a little over $170, 000,” said Capelle. “A federal Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) grant paid for 80 percent of the purchase with CTC paying the remainder.”
In addition to the new buses, CTC recently began utilizing a new logo. “We’ve also made some changes to our Web site to make it easier for citizens to find out how to request a ride and to obtain other information about services we offer,” said Capelle.
CTC is the primary provider of public transportation in Clermont County. Founded in 1977 as CART (Clermont Area Rural Transit), CTC has continued to evolve and now offers two fixed routes, in addition to its Dial-A-Ride services.
