What Will the Future Hold for Milford/Miami Township?

February 19, 2008

Batavia, Ohio.  The Clermont County Transportation Improvement District (CCTID), in cooperation with the Clermont County Engineer’s Office, Miami Township, Clermont County Transportation Connection (CTC), the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), and Burgess & Niple, Inc., will host an open house meeting to discuss the Business 28 Improvements plan. The open house will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the Miami Township Civic Center, located at 6101 Meijer Drive in Miami Township.  Citizens are welcome to visit the open house anytime between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Business 28 Improvements plan includes the widening of Business 28 (old SR28) to a five-lane boulevard between Bypass SR28 to Cinema Drive, and a three-lane urban street between Cinema Drive and Cook Road.  Driveways along Business 28 will be consolidated to provide better access to neighboring businesses, side streets, and signalized intersections. Two offset intersection conditions will be eliminated – Menno Drive will be realigned to match Commons Drive and Orchard Lake Drive will be realigned to match Cook Road.  Aesthetic enhancements include sidewalks, improved business and street signage, decorative street lighting, landscaping, and moving overhead utilities underground.

The proposal also includes establishing a CTC Goshen–Miami Township–Milford shuttle that would provide fixed route bus service between Goshen, Miami Township, Milford, and the Park 50 Techne Center.

This open house meeting is an excellent opportunity for citizens to provide comments and suggestions about the proposed improvements, and to ask questions of county and project staff members.  Comment cards will be available onsite; after the meeting, through March 26, 2008, comments can be submitted to Kathy Carsey at Burgess & Niple, Inc., Suite 1200, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.

This meeting will be held in an open house format, so please feel free to stop by any time between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
