Route 4X Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   Will these changes eliminate METRO route 75X?

A.   Yes, METRO route 75X will no longer operate in Clermont County

Q.   Will the CTC bus go downtown?

A.   Yes, the CTC bus will go straight downtown, it will get on the highway at 125 & 275 and will save at least 20 minutes each way.

Q.  Why is the METRO service being cut?

A.  Clermont County/CTC directly pay for any METRO service in Clermont County.  Route 75X is the most expensive, and least used.  Clermont County has to pay $7.81 per person in addition to the fare paid.  Which means the county/CTC have to pay $15.62 round trip per person.  For comparison: METRO route 82X in union township is $8.50 round trip per person and METRO route 28 & 28X in Milford are $3.14 round trip per person.

CTC will be able to operate better service at a reduced cost, the round trip cost for CTC service will be $10.86.

A.   No, when planning the route we tried to include Cherry Grove, but it's location makes providing the service too costly and inefficient.  The area also has very low ridership.

Q.   Will the CTC fare cost more?

A.   No, CTC will charge the same fare as METRO, as long as passengers purchase the "Shuttle Ride Card"  click Fares for more information.

Q.   How can I get to UC?

A.   Passengers will have to transfer to a METRO bus in downtown Cincinnati or drive to a METRO park & ride in Anderson.

Q.   Will CTC give free rides to UC students/faculty like METRO does?

A.   Yes, CTC will extend the free ride program to UC students and faculty as long as they show a valid UC ID to the bus driver when they get on the bus.

Q.   Is CTC going to use the little buses they already operate?

A.   No, CTC is purchasing larger buses specifically for this route.  They will seat 24 passengers, have commuter style seats and a very heavy duty climate control system.

Q.   Will the new buses have wireless internet?

A.   Not immediately, CTC will be performing a survey once the route is in operation to see if there is an interest from passengers.

Q.   Are there only 2 bus stops along 125?

A.   No, there will be at least 30 bus stops, CTC will do it's best to coordinate the new stop locations with existing METRO stops.  If a passenger would like an additional stop they will be able to request one by using the contact us page.  Route 4X Bus Stop Map (PDF)
